of gone with the old and on with the new…

hi mga fans… all 4 of you… i know… nadagdagan ng isa… haha… new year na naman at syempre dagsaan n naman sa mga paggawa ng new year’s resolution… actually medyo 1 week late na… so before i do mine, i need to check up with last year’s resolutions dba… tignan natin kung may nangyari…

1.  Be Debt-free
- CHECK… praise God… medyo natagalan lang pero thanks to super duper overtime at onshore, nabayaran ko na rin ang utang…

2.  Go to Boracay
- check… unang bagay na na-cross off sa list ko… salamat na lang at may colleague akong nagsama sa akin… laking tipid rin ung trip na yun…

3.  Blog more/Create at least 3 stories for LSS
- eks - wasn’t able to blog after my first post at isa lang naidagdag ko dun s lss blog-novel ko… nadale ng pagcrash ng laptop ko at katamaran na din…

4.  Attend a screenwriting/sports writing seminar
- eks - wlang panahon (see item number 1)…

5.  Score 16 pts in a game
- eks - closest I got was 10 points…

6.  Learn a new sport
- eks - parang item number four lang…

7.  Get an APG rating
- eks - damn you peer group system…

8.  Join/win on a game/reality show
- eks - wlang timepara sumali, at wla ring sasalihan… bka this year… sa the price is right… haha…

9.  Be involved in BIG 6 and invite barkada in BIG 6
- eks - got involved pero not in the way na i hoped to be involved in… i also invited a barkada kaso nakapunta n sya dati dun e… dapat bagong katropa naman…

10. Start a d-group
- epic eks…

2 out of 10 looks like a failed list. Pero praise God for item number 1. Kahit yun lang naachieve ko ok na. Bonus na lang yung iba.

So on to the New Year. I will create a new set of resolutions. Hindi ko na muna ipopost. Ano ba paki nyo sa listahan ko diba… bka meron nga rin kayo e, or nagbabalak pa lang… what I can share is how I came up with my list and how I intend to fulfil them… nde ko alam if this is new to you (or to me)… pero i feel iniba ko ung pananaw ko about resolutions… and i hope this list can help…

- Your resolutions should resolve an issue. Kaya nga resolution e. May rineresolve dapat. And kung may rineresolve, may mali. So we should be man (or woman) enough to admit the mistakes we did in the past then try to find a resolution to it. Syempre hindi lang mistakes, pwde rin yung things na we think could have improved. We should be honest to ourselves. Pati ba naman resolution dadayain natin. Not unless there is nothing major major problem that you have done in the last year.

- Your resolutions should be realistic and realizable. Hindi mo pwde gawing resolution yung gusto mong maging billionaire so freaking bad (not unless may 900M k na). Kaya hindi natin naaachieve ung mga pinaglalalagay natin s listahan natin e. I’m not saying na we can’t dream big. But the resolutions should be realizable within the year. Para at the end of the year, you can look back and say na you have succeeded in this list.

- Your resolutions should be revisited periodically. One reason hinde natin nagagawa yung mga resolutions natin ay dahil nakakalimutan na natin yung mga resolutions na ginawa natin at the start of the year. Nawawala palagi yung listahan ko kya kalahati pa lang ng taon limut ko na ung mga pingsusulat ko. So this year I will try to constantly read my list pra alam ko kung ano ung naaaccomlish ko na at ung nde ko pa nagagawa. Pwde rin tau magset ng small goals periodically pra paunti unti nating narerealize ung mga resolutions natin. Ika nga ni Bart Simpson nung gumawa sila ng parody ng “The Secret”: “Break your dreams into smaller wishes and break those into wishable actions.”

- Your resolutions can be rendered to someone else. Talagang pinilit yung R noh. Render in this context means dedicate. Given na kaya tayo gumagawa ng resolutions ay para sa ikakabuti ng ating sarili. Maybe this year we can dedicate our resolution to others. Maybe your parents, your significant other, friends. I think it will be easier for us to accomplish our resolutions kung alam nating hindi lang tayo ang magbebenefit kundi pati mgaloved ones natin. Cheesy. Hehe. Better yet, pwde nating idedicate ung mga resolutions natin kay God. Let’s make resolutions that we make us better people para mas magamit pa tayo ni God for His plans.

There you have it. Hindi sya foolproof plan pero it doesn’t hurt to try. I pray that, with or without resolutions, we might have a prosperous New Year ahead of us… God bless us all… l8r dayz…
